SOFAS & HANDBAGS – THE ULTIMATE INVESTMENT

25th April 2018 , 5 Comments

SOFAS AND HANDBAGS – INTERIOR & FASHION FOUNDATIONS Sofas and handbags. Two of my MAJOR obsessions. And, whilst other elements fall in and out of favour at any given time, they remain permanent fixtures. It may seem odd to group sofas and handbags together. However, these trusted staples have more in common that you […]

A distinct feature of Mapleton Crescent is the colour of its facade. Beautifully finished with undulating green-blue ceramic tiles, the building's elevations are celebrated with real panache. For me, the tiles are the defining feature of the project and I enjoyed examining the prototypes on display.

MAPLETON CRESCENT – SUPPER CLUB, GREENERY & GREAT DESIGN

17th March 2018 , 0 Comments

MAPLETON CRESCENT SW18 SUPPER CLUB It’s no secret – I love a blogger event. The chance to mingle with like-minded people always appeals. It really offsets the self-inflicted solitary confinement that comes with blog-post writing. So, when innovative urban property developers Pocket Living invited me to a ‘Supper Club’ and to write about their latest project, […]

This week, The Design Centre at Chelsea Harbour was my stomping ground and early morning coffee my fuel. Sporting my trusted snakeskin boots and a slick of punchy lipstick confidence, I was ready for anything that London Design Week could throw at me. And gosh, was there a lot. This year's theme - 'The Rise of Individuality and Creative Expression' was to be explored and interpreted across over 100 free events in and around the Design Centre. Including prestigious 'meet-the-designer' talks and presentations, highly skilled artisan demonstrations and showroom events aplenty, this was set to be a more jam-packed and unmissable event than ever before.

LONDON DESIGN WEEK 2018 What a welcome to the Design Centre at Chelsea Harbour! The beautiful, fresh spring blooms flanking the carpeted staircase into the main entrance set the celebratory tone. Floral arrangements by master florist, Rob Van Helden  This week, The Design Centre at Chelsea Harbour was my stomping ground and early morning coffee […]

Colour Trend: Purple Reign. Pantone’s announcement that Ultra Violet would be the colour of 2018 did not come as a total shock to me. Whilst I personally find this shade is a little brash and gaudy, purple has been gaining popularity for some time now. Unashamedly ‘70s – Prince would be proud - Pantone’s select hue also has a space-age, futuristic feel which seems totally relevant at this juncture. Whilst our sustained love of personalisation confirms our nostalgia, the growth of crypto-currency and technological advances highlights our embrace of the future. Ultra Violet ticks all the boxes as the next big colour trend.

11 COLOUR TREND PREDICTIONS FOR 2018

RESOLUTIONS, GOALS & NEW COLOUR TRENDS It can’t still be January, can it?! Almost a full month in and it continues to feel very much like December’s hangover – that morning after the night before. Apologies for the extended silence. I’ve not only been detoxing from all the glitter but I have been really busy, beavering away […]

FESTIVE ENTERTAINING: YOUR STYLE GUIDE

18th December 2017 , 2 Comments

Festivities are well underway. We’ve enjoyed (and quickly tired of) heavy snow, indulged in Christmas Jumper Day and shamelessly eaten our body weight in Celebrations (or at least I have)! The tunes are playing on repeat in every department store, on every school run and every office party playlist. Lights are up. ‘Out of office’ notifications […]

White decor - To achieve a Hygge-inspired Scandinavian space - the ultimate winter retreat - champion white and work texture. It can be daunting but don't be afraid to forgo colour, instead layering shades of white on white. If you wish to expand the palette, introduce soft greys, muted taupe or desaturated blues for a sense of tranquillity. Complement gentle hues with whitewashed wood, raw birch or greyed-oak and embrace natural materials wholeheartedly.

The ideal non-colour, perfect for a fuss-free interior reboot. Reflecting light beautifully, it is incredibly versatile and works with just about anything! After all the excitement and sparkle of the festive gift […]
